As Disney’s ESPN grapples with subscriber losses, it’s clear that the pay-TV industry is at an inflection point

On Tuesday, May 9, 2017, CFRA’s Tuna Amobi spoke with CNBC regarding the monumental shift in cable TV as viewers shift to be “cord cutters” and “cord-nevers”. For a paid channel like ESPN, their biggest challenge in the near future will be to provide a multifaceted media offering for a multi-platform audience. Most recently, ESPN laid off 100 employees in late April in an attempt to facilitate this evolution.
